Ash Island – A Unique Approach

Instead of using a “tin hat”, a thick layer of corrugated metal on-top of the scaffolding extending the projects duration time and expense. At Ash Island, we use a heavy duty tarp that covers the roof of the house preventing leaks. Not only does the tin-hat have a large surface area allowing wind to gust underneath causing a chance of dismantling it, but the tarp is securely fastened to the property using scaffolding, clips and timber. Any rain will simply run off, and with its taut finish, wind will pass over instead of damaging it. Another great Ash Island idea!
